Twisters Gymnastics began in August 2002 and has grown from
eighteen competitive gymnasts to more than 60, along with more than 20 developmental and pre-team gymnasts.
Our programs have grown to include a boys gymnastics team, a competitive cheerleading squad and a Mason
Dixon League team. We've gone from 25th (last) place at the 2004 Level 4 Maryland USAG State Meet to 4th
place in 2005 and 2006.
Twisters' Mission: The mission of Twisters, Inc. is to provide a safe environment for
children to explore the physical, developmental and disciplinary opportunities that our program provides, while
gaining sportsmanship and incorporating excitement and fun-filled activities.

For three years in a row, we have had four of our girls receive a prestigious
Maryland State Outstanding Gymnast of the Year Award. This award is earned by gymnasts showing academic
achievement in school, a qualifying essay and showing other extra-curricular activities besides gymnastics.
This shows that our gymnasts are well-rounded and show success in other areas. One of our team
members received 3rd place all-around at the Level 4 Maryland State Meet in April 2005, which named her
to the 2005 Maryland State Level 4 Team. Our USAG womens team now ranges from Level 4 to Level 7, we have a
Mason Dixon team and we have a USAG mens team that includes Levels 4 and 5.
