Four-time Olympic gymnast, Dominique Dawes is scheduled to bring her clinic to Twisters this summer for an incredible time of training for our gymnasts. She offers an eight-hour clinic for $200 per gymnast. This clinic has a minimum participation of 30 gymnasts. The clinic time is broken down into six hours of gymnastics training, a 30-minute motivational talk and a 30-minute Q & A session (parents welcome). Each gymnast that participates also receives a personalized, autographed photo, inspirational CD and an information packet dealing with nutrition, goal-setting and self-esteem that includes a journal. Dominique also offers a four-and-a-half hour mini-clinic (minimum 20 gymnasts) that includes 30 minutes of cardiovascular and flexibility work, one-and-a-half hours of basic tumbling and floor dance work, a 30-minute motivational talk, 30-minute Q & A session, a 30-minute goal discussion with gymnasts and a one hour wrap-up that includes autographs and photos. Our goal is to have enough gymnasts sign up to do one of each type of clinic--one eight-hour clinic and one four-and-a-half-hour clinic. This would be an opportunity of a lifetime for both our male and female gymnasts. Since two weeks of camp are required for our competitive gymnasts each summer ($150/week), it would be possible to substitute one week of camp with the eight-hour clinic.
